Should a replacement composite head gasket on a 61 jaguar Mk
2 3.8 be re tightned after initial installation. And after
what intervals .–

Follow the aftermarket head gasket mfg’s recommendation.
Cometic says no retorque needed.

Hi, I have used many cometic headgaskets. If you don t
want any leaks, start the engine the first time, reach
operating temperature, then shut it off. Let it cool over
night and retorque, you WILL find that it has loosened when
you retorque. Then in 1000 miles retorque and that should
do it.
