[xk-engine] FHC rear end VIN 679515

In working on the 1952 FHC recently I noticed a tag number on the rear: 49/13
The 49 is directly over the 13 with a straight line under the 49. The rear
does not have a dip stick.
What do those numbers indicate?
Thank you

No dip stick means your differential was manufactured by Salisbury, and
49/13 means the ratio is 3.77. See Section H of the service manual for more
info.

I don’t have my book at hand but I believe those indicate the number of teeth on the ring and pinion gear. If you divide one by the other , it gives you the ratio…3:77

ML;
The number of teeth on the Ring & Pinion… Divide the big number
by the little number and it comes up with the rear gear ratio of 3.769 or
3.77’s…
