[xk-engine] XK140 C-Type Head Camshafts

Hi all,
I am restoring an old C-Type head for my XK140 SE and was
wondering if I can use XK150/3.8Litre camshafts for it.
They are the inlet C.14985 and exhaust C.13081. Any help
and advise is greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Chris–

In reply to a message from CTDavies sent Sun 3 Jan 2016:

Should be fine. The very early cars (XK120, MK7) had 5/16’’ lift
cams, later, the ‘‘M’’ or ‘‘S’’ or ‘‘Type C’’ versions had 3/8’’ lift
cams, which became the standard for everything out to the S3 XJ6.
The recommended valve lash changed along with the increased lift.–

Shouldn’t be a problem. I am running S3 XJ cams in my C-type head (as well as the S3 crankshaft damper). Runs smooth.
