[xk] FHC Registry XK120s ONLY

Dear List:
The idea of the registry was to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the
first FHC
and the most beautiful Jaguar of all, the XK 120 FHC. You folks with the 140s
and 150s will just have to wait until you get that old. It was not meant to
be a “snob” thing just a forum-meeting place for those owners.
With all do respect to the other Jaguars styles no matter what their age.

Except maybe for the DHC (I always thought beauty also involved just a
little bit of ability to both keep the damp bits off you and at the same
time take your top off when opportune)

Tom:
The secret is a FHC and an OTS. Best of both worlds! Also add a DHC and
it doesn’t get any better unless you have a C and D in the garage too.

maybe a '95 xj12 and a 2000 xkr convertible. and I’ll take a 66 big block

Mad Ludwiq and all FHC owners – I believe we should encourage ALL FHC
owners, not only 120’s, to attend the JCNA Championship event in Nashville in
late July 2001. Let’s celebrate all FHC’s even if the XK120’s were the first
ones in the series. That way we can all bake together in our closed top cars
in the 100+ degree heat of July in southern Tennessee. (Who came up with
that time of year in Nashville anyway? Hot!!)

I think that is a STERLING idea and will promote the JCNA meet as such with
their blessings of course. They chose the spot and the time, NOT ME. I heard
from them over the weekend and nothing has been finalized. When I go to the
LIST I will “talk up” ALL FHCs. Great idea! Urs Schmid told me the head I
bought is from a very early Mark VII but is identical to my early head in all
respects and all of the manifolds from my current head will bolt right to the
“A” type head. Understand from Urs that his first volume will be out in May.
That is not official so “mums the word”

ML …We will always disagree as to the most beautiful Jaguar; but not to start
that again. I dp believe in the 140DHC, though; just to tempt fate (and Ludwig)

That is the wonderful thing about our Jaguars. There was one for everyone who
could afford it.
