I went to the Oldtimer-Tools website, and I was a
little surprised to see the tool they make for
removing knock-offs. One of my friends made something
similar many years ago to remove and install the
knock-offs on his Ferrari. It isn’t as elegant as the
Oldtimer Tool, but it works. Later, he had one made
for the knock-offs on his GT-40. Now to make everyone
laugh, cry, or use inappropriate language: Someone was
helping us get the GT-40 ready for a vintage race. He
picked up a large hammer and proceded to beat the
living daylights out of the knock-offs to make sure
they were tight. Before we could stop him, he broke
off one of the ears. I don’t recall what I said, but I
believe I used the slang term for “anus”.
On the subject of vintage racing, is anyone going to
the Monterey Hstorics later this month?
