George S & Bill E. and any other Minnesotans . . .
Will you be going to the clubs Sunday event? I’m hoping to show up if my
“sometimes out of sorts” XK120 cooperates.
I had some trouble this afternoon with the front drive shaft coming loose!
(2 bolts were missing, 2 were loose) Not a pleasant experience but I’m glad
we caught it now and not on Sunday!
God willing . . . everything else will continue to run fine - ( I think
I’ll try Knight’s mothers trick, only before the journey . . . “plant a
kiss on her hand and then with that hand, lovingly rub the bonnet badge and
say thanks”).

Hi Mona,
A belated Pleasure to Meet You. I’m in Minnetonka. Thanks for
asking about the Sunday Drive. I won’t make it due to previous
commitments - and also due to the fact that #677087 is currently in
1,000,0014 pieces, expecting probably to drive again in Spring of
2002. At least that’s what the hoped- and prayed- (and budgeted-)
for schedule says.
BTW, is your Jag white, and did it spend the winter at Ron’s place in
St Bonifacius? I met a very nice white 120 OTS, with a story a lot
like yours’, out there last Spring.
Regards,
Peter Hill

Finally getting back to the list, weekends get to be so busy.
So nice to hear from you and yes that was my 120 out at Ron’s! Are your
1,000,0014 pieces all out there as well? We will be heading back there
sometime at the beginning of October, probably after the Oct. 8th “Fall
Color Tour” with the club. I’d wait longer if I could but one never knows
when the snow will fly. The good thing about our Minnesota winters is that
it gives us more time to be working on the cars without feeling bad that
we’re not out driving them. (At least that’s how I rationalze living in
such an frigid climate.)
Sunday was a great day for a drive thru some of the most beautiful rolling
hills in Wisconsin. There was a great turn out. We were the only 120 but
there were two 150’s, one that looked as if were just driven off the
showroom floor. Seeing a car like that is both inspiring and overwhelming.
It gives me the vision of what’s possible but also shows me just how far we
have to go, never mind how much time and money it will take to get there.
As one overwhelmed woman once said “Oh I can’t think about this now! I’ll
go crazy if I do! I’ll think about it tomorrow.” Sounds good to me!

sorry I missed it last weekend, was up on the Norwegian Riviera
hope to make the fall tour
sounds like Pete’s missing a few hundred pieces, (the car not him)
I’ve met Pete & am pretty sure he’s all there
the worst thing about winter is seeing the Jag covered in the garage &
wishing the snow would go away, however last winter was so mild I did take
them for a drive on New Years Day, couldn’t resist
