[xk] PERPLEXED ALLOY

3 15 00

Gentleman of this list,

Doesn’t happen often, but I am suddenly without explanation and can use any
assistance that makes sense. Today in speaking with a “Landsman” from
Austria, I am assured he has not only the #55 alloy right hand drive, soon
to be listed on our Website, but an additional 120 OTS left hand drive,
670205, that is completely alloy. Absolutely all aluminum. That by itself
is very nice. However, how do you explain that 670204 (theJag produced
immediately before his) that I own, is a steel body (I’m sending one of my
employees over to the car tomorrow with a magnet, just in case I’ve
completely lost it and the car is in fact completely alloy ) as far as I
remember. Elmgreen, Mc Grath, Duncan , C.Bishop, the Johns, Mad,
Christian, J Reminga, Stephenson, Bassett, Fino, Kreuger, Voorhies, Rogers,
Ky, Bruces, HOW CAN THIS BE???

LOJ ( and once and for all, this means “LOVE OF JAGUARS” and nothing else.!

During the production process, when were the data plates stamped and the car
given an official number?

Could a steel bodied car have moved ahead of the alloy during production and
thereby been numbered first? There are probably a thousand details that could
have detained the alloy car (or a thousand others that might have speeded up the
steel bodied car).

Doc,
I have been led to believe all these years that only 185
Lh cars were built 670001- 670185. rhd ALLOYS, 57 BUILT again starting at 01
to 057. I heard that LHD 185 went to Hong Kong. I am in a 3 way
partnership , on 180. It is in central Cal getting New wood installed in the
body., the previous claims 180 came with steel rear fenders. and it does
have them on it. so 205 should not exist. I’ll bet they transposed or
misstamped ,or misread the plate. maybe its 105 alloy thats my 2 bits
worth! Ky-----Original Message-----
