[xk] Poll on Y2K

1/1/00

Hi Doc & all – Doc, NO Y2K effects here in Sacto. Ca USA – both SMUD
(electrical) and PG&E (gas) not affected. Computer-wise – my ol’ Mac
Performa 405, upgraded for Internet, shows NO effect – Apple NEVER used
the 2-digit years in programming (“99-00”), so we’ve always been Y2K
compliant! Take care – Larry Martz

…so my wife said to me at 12:10am, “wadda ya know, the lights are
still on!”. And if I had any Y2K 'putin glitches, well I just wouldn’t be
posting this. Lights, gas and water in Royal Oak, MI all in good working
order.

This is good reason for us to reflect on the strength of our little
worldwide group to maintain a small part of our heritage in the highly
mobile and well connected society. It still fills me with wonderment… I
can send my thoughts to you good folks in Switzerland, South Africa, China,
New Zealand, Britain, Australia and of course to all us Yanks. We share a
common language of which there are at least 58 distinct dialects yet, can be
understood by all.

So to all, I hope you all see happiness, prosperity, peace and, the chance
to share our wealth with those less fortunate.

All I need do is just hit this key…

Yours Truly,
