[xk] Smiths heater cover colour

Hi all
Is it known if the cover for the Smith heater in all
XK120’s was a brownish colour?
Could the later, and in particular the later 120 FHC’s,
have been black finish?

Jordy;
Don’t know how much this will help, but the 120DHC
had a metallic gray colour to the heater housing… (some
might call it “Hammertone Silver”)…
I have a black “grille” that was given to me… one can
tell from the rivet pattern that it was never intended for
use on the 120… plus it only has one operable vent… the
other side is permanently fastened down (no knob, either!)

While restoring my heater I endeavoured to match the old paint
as closely as possible. I would describe the cover as a dark
silver. FWIW.
