I have been working on creating some sort of sense
regarding the evolution of this lamp. There are at least
SIX distinctly different designs, all carrying the same
part number. The earliest ,for the MkV is actually dated
1949 in the glass. Later into 1950/51 the stem is painted
stove silver not chrome, later still there are numerous
examples of a date stamp in the stem, this it appears
continued throughout the run , however not all are dated.
The last 2 or three lens designs became convex, and then
had a chrome nipple added to the centre. This seems to be
the final style c 1962/3. As I have now completed my
investigations I will have available some of the examples
I used in my research so if you are looking for one of
these lamps let me know. all are NOS.–
