[xk] XK120 Alloy

Listers,
John asked me to send this to the xk-list, he has just made a donation to
the server fundraiser, but I’m not sure if he is on the XK list yet. I
Snipped off his snail-address also for the time being, I’m not sure if he
meant it to go out.

Dear Alastair

SNIP

I am relatively new to both the Jaguar scene and
the net, so would you mind posting on the relevant
Jag-lovers noticeboard the following request.

“I have recently purchased a left drive XK120 alloy
car that was shipped to Hollywood when new in 1950.
It came to England in 1988 via a classic car dealer
Terry Cohn, who sold it to Dave Gilmour of the pop
group Pink Flloyd. Gilmour kept the car for 10 years
and I have recently bought it. The chassis number is
670165 and I would appreciate knowing the history
of the car for the 38 years it was in the USA.
As the windshield was replaced by aero screens and
the rear view mirror has been nacelled, it may have
some American racing history. Would love to know.
Please contact johnsangster@msn.com in England”

Thank you Alastair

Regards

John Sangster

Was anyone able to help John?
Let me know off line, please
