Xk120 engine tool

I am going to dismantle my engine and am needing to find the tool, socket, for the timing gear eccentric adjuster. Anyone have suggestions?

Needle nose pliers. I prefer that method over the tool.

I made my own out of a piece of pipe

Wow. Yep, that’s it! I hate to be a pest about this but any chance you can send me the dimensions? I’ll make one today! Thanks so much. This forum is great! I’ll send you a PM.

The tool is pictured in the Service Manual page B.42

I made one same as yours, think I made it a tiny bit longer (for a 4.2 engine)

This one is a bit more elaborate, but it pushes in the locking plunger, so might be worth the extra effort.

That is the one I made, I think its from the XJ Service manual, I used cut nails for the pegs, but still made it a bit longer than 2-1/4" which wants to bark your knuckles, just trial test the best length for your application

Depending on where you are and how much you value your time. This was just the first one I saw.

Great, thanks very much.
