Does anyone have any archive photos or drawings showing the proper placement of the fiber padding on top & bottom & around the fuel tank at installation? Also is there a better more suitable replacement for the original fiber material that would not absorb moisture which caused rusting of the fuel tank steel?
I’ll probably use closed cell foam, like this:
The link is chosen at random, there are several sizes available. I’ve used it for years on all sorts of vehicle applications and it’s good stuff. Doesn’t absorb any water at all.
Thanks for your information. I’m in the U S and located equivalent material at McMaster-Carr a well known major local supplier of all types of products.
