A PO of my early 1951 XK120 OTS enlarged the battery box openings to accommodate two modern 12V batteries. The box structures themselves are missing - just two large holes in the battery deck. I will need to fabricate a new deck and new boxes and I would like them to be original dimensions. So, I will need to know the location and opening size of the holes in the deck as well as the dimensions of the boxes themselves. Is anyone willing to take a tape measure to theirs and get these numbers for me?
5.75" deep.
7.75" front to back.
7.5" wide.
5/8" flange setting the opening 1.5" to the rear.
The opening to the outboard wheel housing is 6.5".
The opening if flush to the rear bulkhead.
You’re welcome, Tim. There’s a wealth of information in the archive, though sometimes it takes some digging to find what you’re looking for. A faint memory of an old thread helps.
