speaking of fuel splash out the filler in spirited driving…yep it happens and more than one car has burned up due to that…maybe not from exhaust which is below but not all that hot, or from parking…and drips and some other ignition source: also don’t know how it does not/did not happen in racing, slaloms, ralleye etc…maybe it is just rare enough…wonder if tank fuel would slosh more when 3/4 or so? Did the oft installed “Le Mans” cap seal better? Nick
Bob, I am not sure that the bulb was original equipment. I have swapped to the “rubber” seal since I got the car. The PO had a number of bodges in the engine compartment so I don"t doubt that he may have switched to a bulb type at some point.
