XK150 3.8 0TS RHD production figures

Anyone have the chassis numbers and production figures for the 3.8 RHD OTS XK150?
Cheers, Graham

93 in total
2 3.8 std
23 3.8S
45 3.4S

Thanks Terry.

Are they in a sequence of chassis numbers or random from 820001 to 93?

Finally is 820072 a 3.8 car?

no 1- to 93
T820071DN is the car Gavin is restoring which is a 3.8 litre “S”
I cant quickly say if 72 is a 3.8
in NZ you had 68 chamberlain which was a 3.8S as well
tell me more

My records show 820072 as being a 3.4 standard with V-7333-8 as an engine number. Built 14 /15 March 1960.

Hi Morris.

My apologies if I second guessed your information.

So do the chassis numbers not follow any sequence based on the model of the car?

I know the 3.8 is a very rare car in OTS in fact when the original owner of 820071 informed the local Jaguar agent he was bringing one into Australia new they didn’t believe there was such a car.

I guess the seller of 820072 needs to provide a heritage cert or some other proof (photo of engine and engine number) as proof.

Regards, Graham.

820072 is presently for sale in New Zealand on Trademe

The first RHD roadster is number 820001 and the last is 820093
There were 24 RHD 3.8 'S ’ roadsters made , the first was Chassis number 820056 and the last one was 820093…The rest were dispersed at random between the two numbers.
There were 93 RHD roadsters made ,which had a complete mix of engines and gearboxes which Terry McGrath has outlined above
The rarest RHD OTS out of all the total of 2267 built is actually the 3.8 standard shift with two SU carbs, of which only two were made.
There were 14 LHD 3.8 'S 'OTS produced,

the real 820066 is/was in NZ as well.
Back in the 1970’s an englishman took a lhd car and and stamped it up as 66

Hi Morris.
Thanks for the information.
I never dreamed that with different engine specs they would all fall into the same chassis range.
Regards, Graham.

Any Jaguar engine starting with the letter ’ V ’ belongs to the 150 range of cars. Left and Right hand.
V= standard 3.4 twin carb
VA= 3.8 twin carb
VS= 3.4 triple carb
VAS=3.8 triple carb.
