Hi All,
I am repairing the screw mounts for the boot latches - the holes in the frame had become enlarged and the mounting screws would no longer tighten. I am gluing dowels into the holes and re-drilling to take the screws.
The inside edges of each latch is attached to a wooden block by two screws and this block is loose with respect to the frame. Does anyone know how these blocks should be attached to the frame - should the mounting screws be long enough to go through the blocks into the frame, or should the blocks be glued or screwed to the frame independently?
The spare parts catalog tells me all mounting screws are the same length, which is not really long enough for the side screws to engage the frame, but I could use longer screws.
