Hi all…just got new foam for my front seats…bases have a large round hole…should there be something across this hole…found this photo on line showing a wire mesh…should there be something there…thanks…Steve

As far as I know, there’s nothing between the foam and the steel seat pan (with hole). So the photo you show is probably from someone who experienced problems with a “sagging” cushion and believed this was the solution. See attached pics of an (XK 140) example of the original seat pan and the other showing what happened with the seat cushion after many, many years of wear.

Hi Bob…thanks for the reply…yes my old foam is bulging out…i thought the mesh might not be original. …photos very usefull for when i replace my foam…thanks…Steve
