XK150 Washer Bottle Mounting Bracket

Hi,

Having finally acquired that which I believe to be the correct mounting bracket for the washer reservoir of an FHC XK150, I have questions about mounting it.

On the inner wing there are two holes that line up with the top of the bracket. There isn’t a hole corresponding to the bottom of the bracket - although there is a hole that is both too low and too far forward to line up. I can add a hole, but it surprising there isn’t one.

The parts catalog says all three mounting points use the same nuts, bolts and spacers. Is this correct, as there is a step in the wing - should the bracket have its own additional spacer on the bottom mount?

Also, which way around do the bolts go - threaded through from the wheel well side, with nuts in the engine compartment, or the other way around? I’m a bit surprised that they didn’t use captive nuts in the wing for this.

Thanks,
Clive.

Clive Hope these pictures help.

Clive All screw bolts have spacers , the lower one goes into the lower inner fender.

Morris,

Thank you - this is so helpful.
