[xk8] 20" Detroit wheels

My 97’ XK8 with 70000 miles is in need of tires. I’m considering
upgrading to bigger wheels and tires to improve handling. Also
considering new springs and shocks. Possibly Eibach 1’’ lowering
springs. I’d like to know if there are any issues with using wheels
and tires this large and any hints to better handling without
spending a fortune. I love the car and it has a very nice ride,
just a bit more body roll than I would like in the corners.–

I have the Detroit wheels on my coupe and really like them, Adding the
bigger brakes and stainless brake lines makes quite a difference too. I
have no experience with lowering the car, but it handles very well set
up like this. You must be very careful of tire pressures and avoiding
potholes, 20 " rims dent easily.

I also have the detroit 20’’ wheels on my 01 XKR silverstone. Love
the look and the lowered ride. You shoulder be prepared for a more
firm ride, even a little harsh on bumpy roads. The previous poster
is also absolutley right about tire pressure and dpotholes. My
rims (2 of them) have been bent on two separate occasions in 22k
miles and beielve it or not I am a very cautious driver. My
advice, if you live in the midwest, or somewhere with a lot of
potholes, learn to live without the 20’’ wheels…–

There should be a sticker in the center console. I run the same as the 19" recommended pressures, 32 front and 34 rear.
