[xk8] Annoying Dashboard Rattle Solved Easy

I am new to the world of Jaguar XK8/Rs, so I am still learning. I
recently purchased a 2000 XKR in excellent condition with only
35,000 miles on it. The only problem I had was the infamous
annoying dashboard rattle. I tried tightening the 3 dashboard torx
screws to no avail. It was not obvious where the rattle was coming
from. Last Sunday I decided to drop the tire pressure from
the �normal setting� (32/34psi) to the �comfort� setting
(26/28psi). Lo and behold, no rattle anymore! Anyone else had the
same experience?–

Thank you so much for this tip. I lowered my tire pressures to the Jag recommended 26 psi cold spec for under 100 mph and that fixed two annoying dash rattles. 2004 Jaguar XK8 4.2L 17" Wheels

Hi guys. I have owned two of these cars and have experienced a dash rattle on both. Not sure if it’s the same source but both of mine were attributed to the plastic windscreen defrost vents at the forward edge of the dash pad coming loose, lifting and contacting the inside of the glass. You may want to check and see if you are having the same condition.
