We all know that the different versions can be visually identified. My question is, can a removed tensioner be identified by a discrete serial number (there are lots of numbers stamped on them), and if so does the serial number or other code, show date of manufacture. My goal is to determine the manufacture date of tensioners pulled and replaced in my XK8.
