I’m thinking that just to be safe I should replace the
battery on my XK8 as it’s now 6 years old.
Has anyone used the ‘‘Optima’’ battery in their Jag? Which one?
This past summer I put one in my Prowler & am pleased if for
no other reason than piece of mind.

Steve,
Can’t help you with model of Optima battery to use.
But do have a comment or two:
remember there is no such thing as an elecricla failure ,
it’s always mechanical! And an Opitma battery is still a
mechicanical device, a very expensive one at that. Most
ordinary type batteries last 4 to 6 years; so cost wise,
they are a better buy unless you want to fly upside down!
On my boat my ‘‘house’’ batteries (Trojan wet cell) lasted 13
years with a 3 stage charger…Obviously it’s
your choice but a group 49 battery from AutoZone for $60 is
a very reasonable way to go.
