[xk8] Fuel injectors, etc?

Hey everyone,
I have a 2000 xkr with 45000 miles. I’ve been told I shall need to
have the injectors cleaned by a mechanic. However, I wondering will
not fuel additives to this job? If so, what additive should I use?
And, one other minor thing: The end trim piece, or plastic plug,
that inserts into the end of the window trim of the rear side
window at the driver’s door has disappeared. To get another, the
dealer says I must order the entire trim, which will cost $250.00.
Does anyone know where I might find this 50 cents component?
Thanks very much,
Christopher–

Unless the injectors are badly fouled then a good dose of injector cleaner
added to the tank should do the trick - I know some folk who include this as
part of their regular service regime. Redex is a popular brand over here,
but there will be a few to choose from.

As for the trim piece, try a breakers yard or maybe one of the Jag
specialists. The guys at Coventry West are usually pretty good.
