[xk8] Slow XKR No Pickup

Can somebody help me. I bought a 2005 xkr with 20,000 miles. The
car is perfect except it has no pickup. I have had an older xk8
before and this does not seem any faster. If I was younger, I would
have noticed in the first quarter mile of test driving. The motor
seems to run very smoothy. I do hear a wine like I am guessing the
supercharge makes when spooling up. Can this car run without the
supercharger operating? Or maybe the belt is not tight enough and I
am not getting full rpms out of supercharger? Can someone help me
so I do not have to resort to selling this car and buying a
corvette? God forbid!lol My Girlfriend is talking non stop about me
buying an xkr instead of a vette! Please vindicate me somebody!

At highway speed (50 mph) When you floor the pedal, does the trans
downshift? You should immediately hear the results and after a
fraction of a second speed mightily along, passing anybody on the
freeway. Make sure your mats are not blocking the pedal travel. A
worn out throttle position sensor could also be a problem.
Sometimes the Mass airflow sensor could be at issue as well. If you
see no engine light you should have someone read the codes just in
case.–

Yes, leaks on the supercharger, esp. at the bypass valve or at the
intake ducts have already been noted on our cars, and do typically
bring a XKR to behave like an asthmatic XK8…

You are lucky to have had a xk8 before, as some people did drive
their XKR like this for months, thinking that Jaguar’s engines are
really not very performant…

I couldn’t repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder.

Hi
I had a problem similar to this and I also had previously owned the
NA XK , it was a duff spark plug that caused my lack in power,
hope your problem is as simple to fix

I had an almost identical problem, from another forums advice
adjusted the stretchede throttle cable initially. but the major
cause was a split in the air intake plastic piping bellows
underneath which could not be seen. After- what a difference a new
car compared ot the drive beforehand.–
