[xk8] The best wax/polish from 46 tested products over 6 weeks

I ordered a wax test report for 46 waxes and polishes and finally
read the results when it arrived yesterday in the mail. Some
shocking, some not, but here are the top 5.

All the products were bought off the shelf or online where they
could find them, there was no advertising or sponsorship from any
of the manufacturers, and compared against each other over a 6 week
period.

The products were eval’ed on: price, amount of water beads using
500ml of water, bead size, shine, gloss, depth, clarity,
reflectivity, slickness, color enhancement, overall impression, and
final grade. Road grime was not a factor in the tests
unfortuantely, thats in the round two tests being
conducted/prepared.

The grading was done in an A+ to F- fashion to form a GPA, and the
top five GPA results are below.

  1. Zaino Brother’s Polizh, synthetic (NOT the ZFX which just came
    out), A- grade, 3.53 GPA
  2. P21S Concours Carnuba, premium carnuba, B+ grade, 3.18 GPA
  3. Klasse All-in-one and Sealant Glaze, synthetic, B grade, 2.94 GPA
  4. Armor All Protective Barrier, low grade carnuba, B- grade, 2.73
    GPA
  5. Pinnacle Souveran Carnuba, premium carnuba, B- grade, 2.60 GPA

There was a snow and ice storm for a week and one of the only
products to survive this after being washed off was the Zaino and
still kept beading water and offering protection while protecting
its optics better then any other product. The drawback is its
difficult to apply and must follow a method to achieve max results.
The next was P21S which had A ratings for the first two weeks in
the above categories and was the best carnuba based wax.

I’ll post more on the top five products, but if your looking for
the best carnuba, P21S is it, and the best synthetic is Zaino.

I’m going to switch to P21S once my Pinnacle is used up to see if I
like it better then Pinnacle. I like my Jag slick, deep and glossy,
and clean and wax every 2-4 weeks to keep these results.

I’ll list all the 46 tested waxes in ranking order, but without GPA
etc. so those who use something other then whats above will know if
their product was tested or not.

Sonny… what do you recommend for “Anthracite” color to keep it looking
good. Also, do you know a good detailer/wash person/service in the
woodland hills/calabasas area.

Very interested in the wax/polsh test. Do you know suppliers who
will ship to UK? Particularily interested in P21S and Pinnacle. Web
addresses would suffice.
Thanks again

Thanks for your report. Do they mention any Zymol Wax in teh test?
I currently use a $ 150 Zymol wax, but it is not as good as I
expect. I am always wondering how come many people always have a
show car condition on their paint.–
