[xk8] XK8 seat time and comfort?

Anyone taken long runs (e.g., a 12+ hour driving day) in a
post-2002 4.2 liter XK8? How do the seats feel (or more
precisely, how do your back and butt feel) after multiple
hours behind the wheel? A fragile posterior needs to know.
Thanks!–

Mike,

For what it’s worth, we just took the XK8 on a weekend trip-300+
miles and 5 hours each way. The ride was great and we felt fine
upon arrival and return The suspension of course is a bit stiffer
on the XK8 than on the XJ or S-Type, but very comfortable
nonetheless.

We spent a week this summer driving the S-Type up to Canada and
back. The ride was extremely comfortable, especially for such a
long haul. If you’re looking at long highway trips, the saloons
have a more comfortable and softer ride, plus more elbow room
inside the cabin. On the other hand, if you’re looking to drive up
the coast highway, the XK8 can’t be beat.

I have a '98 XK8 convert. that I have driven from Ind. to Col.(1100
miles each way) for the past 3 years, plus extensive sight-seeing
while I am there. Great driving on mountain roads. I am 67 years
old & have a skinny butt. It is quite comfortable for me.I make the
trip solo so there is plenty of room for luggage. Haven’t had any
more fatigue or aches & pains than when I take my Tahoe. I usually
drive 700 miles the 1st day & 400 the 2nd day. Most of it on
interstates at 80 to 85 mph. I recommend it. Go for it.
