The wiring is finished, and door trim is installed, so I am now looking at the carpet trim, particularly on either side of the gear box .See pics of specific carpet pieces.
. The left hand side carpet has a pocket on the inside, whose purpose is obscure. I wonder if its for a piece of insulation ( the side of the gear box might get hot !? ). The RHS carpet is different and there is a loose grey carpet, which based on its shape suggests it fits on the inside, and covers up the circular inspection hatches.Hence it cannot be glued down. Does this make sense !
That is how mine is. the top edge is basically ‘clamped’ in place under the body of the console and can be pulled out to access the rubber plug.
