ZF 4HP-22 transmission - Clutch A modification

Dear All,

Some time ago, there was plenty of hate towards HP22 trannys self-destructing due to input shaft seals leaking fluid and burning A-clutch assembly.
There was also a kit with teflon seals released to allow upgrade. The kit was also having instruction manual how to drill the relief hole in A-clutch assembly to compensate any tiny leaks/pressure variations during the ride.

It’s probably not the easiest topic to look into - however maybe someone has any experience with these sets/manual how to perform this? Drilling works one-way only, without drill that undrills cannot be undone, hence asking…

Any feedback highly appreciated.

It was also used in a number of BMW, perhaps stop in at a BMW dealer with a box of doughnuts or bagels and talk to their trans specialist. Probably a bulletin issued by the manufacturer.
