1974 XKE S3 V 12 Piston replacement

Hi
I have 1974 XKE V-12 S3 motor which was not properly stored for 30 years. After pulling the heads, 8 of liners have signficant rust and one piston is damaged. The motor is the US version with 8:1 compression. Will there be any problem with replacing all 12 pistons and liners with the 9:1 piston and liners? Will the cams be the same. I can find the 9:1 pistons and liners for less dollars.

I’m pretty sure all will be good. You’ll have to run higher octane fuel,
obviously.

Some people opt to just go ahead and drop the EFI H.E. engine in there,
complete with the EFI harness and ECU. You’d get a bit more power, a LOT
better fuel economy, and you’d never have to fiddle with those Stranglebergs
ever again! And it’s really easy to find an H.E. engine. If you wanna $pend a
little more, you might even spring for the 6.0 version.

I have an 18,000 mile crank, rods, Euro compression pistons and liners plus as-new flat head valves/guides. Also oil pumo andxother bits…Very heavy to ship from aMaryland but might deliver. It’s basically a ‘rebuild in a box’ if someone is doing an E or flathead XJ12/XJ-S to Euro spec. Off list if interested.

Well this sounds great. Is this for one side of the V 12? I have not ordered the pistons/liners. Was on my todo list for next week. Please let me know what $ you want for the parts. I will pay shipping to Nevada. It is looking a lot like Christmas

No, all 12.
