Since sleeping over the winter, the fuel gauge on my 1995 XJ6 is erratic, each new day gives a different fuel lavel indication. I am thinking maybe (hopeful) that the contacts to the sensor just need cleaning.
Looking for tips/advice hoe to access the unit.

Just make sure the level is well below half, you need to remove the back cover in the trunk/boot, once thats off you will see the fuel level sender at mid point in the tank. Use a brass drift to knock the retaining ring around (no sparks!) once thats off the sender will come out.
