Doesn’t the neutral safety switch bolt to the side of the transmission? Not hard to replace. Must be more going on than the switch. In the worst case, you could swap in a used transmission for thousands less than a lump swap.

Or defeat the switch? I suspect it is more of a problem tan idicsted.

Exactly. Looks like a standard Delphi weatherpack connector. It would take 5 minutes and $20 to make a jumper. I did exactly this on my boat.
