I wonder if these could be the little brackets which have speed nuts on them? I needed no extra parts to mount the replacement under dash panels I bought. There were little sheet metal ange brackets welded to the body and the screws pass through the panels and go into speed nuts on those brackets. Unless yours have been removed or rusted off, then they should be there already.
These brackets hold the:
BD.8536/6 Spire nut - 2 pcs
Where you have the:
BD.8537/1 Screw - 2 pcs
BD.532/2 Cup washer - 2 pcs
attaching the 2 casings near the steering column.
However, the SPC mentions something I have never seen: BD.21136 Fixing Bracket, for Scuttle Casings - 4pcs
and this is what my question is about. What are these brackets???
I don’t have the SPC handy, but on the very early '61 cars, the little brackets that are welded on in the photos are missing and others are secured with screws The rexine covered panels have different shapes (they’re smaller) and are screwed onto these removable brackets. You must be extra careful with the under dash Hardura as there’s very little overlap.
