4.2 2+2 Gearbox oil leaking down speedo cable

Hi,
I have the cable connector as tight as I can but it still leaks. I overfilled the gear box and that caused a lot to come down the cable but have taken oil to correct level. It only leaks when the car is driven. Do I need to put some kind of washer in the seat of the cable connector (or silastic)?

You might just want to undo the angle drive and let it sit for a few days, to let the excess oil drain off. Replacing the speedometer drive seals is a chore. But if it doesn’t dry up, you’re stuck with it. The external leak is a problem, but the bigger problem would be if oil made it through the angle drive and all the way to the speedometer.
