4.2 XKR Transmission?

What transmission does the 4.2 XKR have? ZF or Mercedes?

I know the ZF transmission on the 4.0 cars have been problematic. I had an '05 XK8 with the 6 speed ZF that had problems at 12,000 miles. The dealer told me that was not unusual. I assume if the ZF was used on the 4.2 XKR it was a bigger problem.

Dave,

I have an XKR with 85,000 miles on the clock and have had problems with the ZF all along the way…It wants to stay in 2nd or 3rd to long and jumps sometimes when it comes out…Do you have an answer for me?

Sorry but automatic transmissions are a mystery to me. The ZF problems are why I bought a 4.0 with a Mercedes transmission.
