420G radiator seals

Does anybody know what the material the radiator seals a 420G are made of? The ones on the left/right and bottom (BD28370/29066/28629). What would be a suitable substitute? Some sort of vinyl??
Cheers

Steve,
On my Mark X, I used a rubber material that contained some fiber reinforcement. It was the closest thing I could find to the original. A local hardware shop had a selection of different thicknesses.

The 4.2L Mark 10 parts book has them listed as canvas rubber. I took a photo of the old ones on my Mk 10, and I believe that they were originally black before the painter changed them to opalescent dark green.

Many thanks, I guess I’ll look for a black waterproof canvas.

Hi Steve, my 420 also has this type of seal for the radiator. I purchased a very close material from McMaster Carr.

Thanks Allen, that is great to know. Can you pass on the type of material that you used? I found lots of options on their website.

Michael, it was a rubber impregnated canvas. This was a few years ago, but if you look under canvas you should be able to find it.
