I moved you to the XJ40 list as ‘89 implies it’s not a Series 1…3 car but the successor.

If your car is a 1989 XJ6 Vanden Plas (and not an XJ12), and has just one fuel tank instead of two, you are on the wrong list. This list is for the Series I, II, and III XJ6s and XJ12s. Jaguar introduced a new XJ6 model in 1988 in the USA (earlier in other parts of the world) that is completely different than the cars discussed on this list. That newer XJ6 model is referred to as the XJ40 after the internal Jaguar projet number for that model. I think that you should be on the Jag-Lovers XJ40 list where your entirely different model is discussed.

Here’s a tip, mark the relationship (position) of the wiper arm to the spindle with a scratch or something before you take the arm off.
