Hi All and Happy new Year. I a Have an XJR 1998 which I dont use that often. The last few months the ABS light would not go off and also the auto gear box fault.
using my scanner showed comms error to the speed controller.
Being an Electronics eng, bit sceptical that anything was wrong there.
After poking around the ABS module I found the Earth connections (for the abs module) near the left headlight was loose. Took it off cleaned up the rust and re-fixed it.
Reset the error code and Drove the car - all fixed no error lights.
Moral of the story - Check your earth connections a lot cheaper than a new Gearbox!
