Hey Harvey! You put a good bit of effort into this; a pity it would have been so much work to fix it. Don’t through your buck away…someday I’ll have to start on my bonnet. I’m thinking I’ll remove it from the car and put it in a separate garage to work on it. That’s still months away for me. I’ll watch your progress on your blog.

I hope the Centre Section you’ve purchased turns out to be better quality than a Bonnet Under Panel (Front Lower Valance Panel) I purchased not that long ago. It was the expensive version on offer, said to be manufactured by Jaguar/Land Rover. It was bought to replace a profoundly rusted original panel for a totally unmolested S2 Bonnet. Just about every aspect of the panel is unsymmetrical, to the point that its not viable to fit; I would have to charge the client more than the cost of the part, to fit and repair it.
My options are, take a loss and sell it to someone that is desperate, and
- find a good original unit (highly unlikely)
or - make a new panel from scratch (most likely option).
Just another case of rubbish quality, expensive After Market Part.
