A year ago I purchased my 2017 F type and immediately had the battery replaced under warranty.
One year later it failed again. I always kept it on a maintainer but forgot to hook it up again. After two weeks it was dead, would not hold a charge. Installed a Champion battery with a higher amp rating and so far it holding a charge without the maintainer.

Unless your DRIVING almost every day.
You have milli draws on the battery with the car off
Better battery won’t hurt but unless your driving it will die and make sure the key pod is NOT left in the car!
It’s constantly searching for it and that kicks on other programs
It’s like leaving an old fashioned key in the ignition
