Wondering about wider tires than the standard ER/70VR15’s…they seem purty narrow!

AFAIK, 205 is as wide as you can go on stock width rims. I run 225/45 tires on 16x8 rims, really modernises the look.
Thank you RR! I want a modern look BUT not at the expense of heavy, unresponsiveness at lower speeds. Thanks!
Right now I m running 215/60 P6000s on standard size rims but over the years I ve run up to 225s, I think they were 50 profile (Pzeros)
No issues. I love the P6000s, they have a 180 threadwear so great handling and grip. On the down side, the last two I bought a month ago were $342 each… up from $260 just 4 years ago…
Pascal ----Awesome, thanks for the info! Again, they will readily fit my '73 XKE Series III (optional wire wheels)? I am with you - THE only contact with the road is the tires. And they need to be A+…!
Why?
They work perfectly with the suspension,
Cheers!
Ps. I’ve had Michelin XWX 205VR15, Dunlop SP Sport 205/15 ER70 and now Dunlop Sport 205/50ZR15 always with new rimbands and Michelin tubes. 3150kms in nine days this September, good for 200-230km/h. Haven’t had a chance to drive faster, too much traffic in Germany nowadays.
Awesome, thanks for the info!
I’m running Cooper Cobra Radial GT’s - P215/70R15 - '72 2+2. Nice look, And for the minimal (nice weekends & shows) driving I do, they work well. Also tubeless wire wheels…
Very cool!
