Hi guys, I have tried everywhere without success to source a supplier of the carbon brushes for the Lucas Screenjet washer motor, original brushes detached from the copper strip they were attached to. Non soldered fixing.
From online searches it appears the original part number was 54711077 and superseded by EK4, I stand to be corrected on this.
As always any help will be very appreciated.
Search here, with “Lucas motor brushes;” at the time, there were some on eBay.
Hi Paul, tried Ebay but no joy.
I’ve got some old Rovers that use the same motors: worse come to worse, i can raid them for the brushes.
I did not know rover used the same motor. Must have been the P5 or P6.
Maybe a search using ‘Rover screen washer’ might come up with something.
Mine are P6s…the washer pump is identical to what was on my 63 E Type.
Quite a few cars had them fitted , Land rover , Triumph , even found its way in to the Lambo . to name a few .
Paul Wigton thanks for the offer but I do not want to jump at your generosity to leave you scarce of them until I exhaust all other avenues. Will give it another week or so and see what turns up
