I’m building a 4.2 from a MkX. I just discovered that my dual belt crankshaft pulley has a big chip missing. I’m assuming this is a fatal flaw, so I need to look for another one… but single or dual belt style? I assume dual crankshaft pulley, but also dual water pump pulley?
The engine came with power steering, but I’m not running power steering. I eventually plan to run aftermarket A/C and the car came with an alternator, so I’m going to update that. Do I need a tensioner? The MkX engine had one, but don’t have it.
Ha! The engine is from a MkX, but it’s going into a Mk2 with manual steering. My old 1959 Chevy which was bigger and heavier than a MkX was also manual steering. No problem.
