Bilstein shocks

installed bastes shock somewhere in the late 90s. the upper bushings have deteriorated. having a very difficult time finding new bushings. shock # is 24-024457 or 56 have seen both numbers. spent several hours on phone…did find some but they are to thick, cannot get the nut on the shaft. do not need new shocks, just the bushings. michael 85 xjs

Previous experience, with a number of cars, has shown that if the shock bushings are worn out, then most likely so are the shocks. Also you say they are 20+ years old, I’d be on the phone looking for new shocks. Think of it as expensive bushings that come with a free shock absorber.

Tried NAPA? Ofttimes, generic bushings work just FINE.

Kirby’s book mentioned some generic bushings that will work fine. $10.

I assume you’re talking front shocks.
