I can’t find my bonnet prop socket, p/n BD3271, this item:
looks like it will be a quick job to fab one up from two strips of 14 ga. Can anyone tell me how wide the steel strips are (looks like an inch or so)?

The width of the support bracket is 1 1/4" across the flat with a hole diameter of 1/2", the flat shoulder that extends out from the angled segment (the bit the hole is located in) does so by about 1" and the outer edge is slightly rounded.
