Boot key lock lube recommendation

Need a recommendation for a boot key lock lube for my x300 (1996 XJ6 VDP) Jag. Thanks

Stan,
You are on the wrong list. Your car is two generations newer than the Series I, II, and III XJ6s and XJ12s discussed on this list. I recommend that you try over on the X300 list.
I use graphite powder on the locks in my much older cars. I have no idea if that is a good idea for your newer locks.

Paul

Post moved, i would probably use graphite powder as well.

Thanks. I’m new to Jag-lo ers, and didn’t know I was in the wrong forum…BUT, because I also own two series 1’s (XJ6, XJ12) great to know.

Thanks again.

Maybe not if it’s gooey or has been oiled - then something solvent based for locks?

Never WD40 and never grease. A light machine oil on something worn perhaps buf this one is probably sticky, not dry?
