Checking the fuel pump relay

Before even thinking of dismantling the fuel pump , i would like to check the fuel pump relay to see if the current arrives to the fuel pump. My idea is to short the relay socket with a multimeter in the fuel pump line to see if there is a current absorption that indicates that current flows thru the pump.
It is simpler than removing the fuel pump connector that is buried in a quite unaccessible place. Can someone help me in locating the pinout of the relay socket so i can short the right pins to activate the pump?

This is, as shown, from the 1990 electrical guide; your 1992 should be the same. As far as I know, it is standard for pins 30 and 87 to be the load side of the relay.
