I have read many variations of why this has happened…please advise what is the issue and what is the fix. Hopefully it is something I can do here at home, as I also own a 1989 XJS which constantly tugs at me for attention.
This seems to happen mostly in HOT weather. I did witness this fault on a few cars. (X202s)
Thanks for replying, now the big question is…does it go away on its own?
I don’t know? The last time I saw this (5 or 6 years ago) the customer did not want a new module and the engine developed a ‘knock’ shortly thereafter so she sold the car for parts.
I think sometimes it is intermittent but never ‘goes-away’.
Thanks again for writing back…we’ll see what happens. We have owned the car for 2.5 years and this is the first time it has reacted this way.
Better news. When I started the vehicle this morning the climate control was not flashing.
“Intermittent” is the word of the day.
Thank you.
