Clutch Slave Cylinder conversion

Hi
On my 68 ser 1 1/5 I had the hydrostatic slave cylinder configuration that Jaguar
decided to do away with.So thanks to people on this forum and
checking many archive write ups I decided to switch my set up to
the non hydrostatic set up.Finally after waiting for parts for a month, today
I’m done.
I made the longer rod.

and installed parts.

Benny can I ask where you got the parts to do this ? I just checked my car and it does not have a return spring or the clevis pin and tab for the spring. My slave cyl blew several years ago before I started reading this forum. Does it take a whole new cylinder to convert this or can I just get the longer rod to use in my existing one ? After reading some of the posts the last several months it sounds like might be a good idea for longer clutch life but I hope not to go thru the cyl change again since I remember it being difficult to get the hydraulic line lined up to thread into it.

Hi David,
I got the rod from https://www.boltdepot.com/Product-Details.aspx?product=18111
Cut the hex off and filed the tip.
The rest of the parts were from SNG. The pivot had to be gotten from England so it took
a while. But I’m very happy with the results.
Here is my PO.

I did the same… use the spring, make a bolt to fit, job done.

Same here. My PO had the shorter pin but no spring. The clutch plate was new but the carbon block was worn to metal.
