[collectibles] Jag Memorabilia

Bounced - HTML Formatted---------------------------------

As a new subscriber let me first of all introduce myself.

I have a collection of classic Jaguar cars and as a sub interest I collect
tools, books and badges. As you will all know these do take up less space but
in my case they are integral to my general Jaguar interest.

I have recently been offered the book Jaguar Under the Southern Cross, can
anyone tell me about this book and give me likely value to purchase from a
dealer in excellent condition. At this stage as you will appreciate I have
not seen the book.

If anyone has an original XK120 Owners Instruction Book as issued with Alloy
Bodied cars RHD I would be very interested.

Regards Alan

Alan:
Jaguar Under the Southern Cross is a limited edition (1000 copies)
book put out by an Australian Jaguar Club. It’s one of the few books I’ve
seen specifically addressing Jaguar’s history in Australia. Lots of old B&W
photos, some of interesting cars not often seen in the Northern Hemisphere.
The text is ok, lots of race details, local histories and personalities,
although as an American many of these references don’t have a lot of
recognition value. It has counts of registrations by year and model, which
may be of interest. I’ve seen copies offered for as much as US$200, which
is more than it’s worth. I paid AUS$100 about three years ago, which seemed
about right. It’s getting a bit scarce.
